About Us

The Kericho National Polytechnic is a Government Technical Training Institution under the Ministry of Education, State Department of Vocational and Technical Training. Its history dates back to 2015 when it was started as a technical training institute. The Institute began offering TVET programmes in May 2015 and was officially unveiled by the Deputy President on 20th November the same year. Currently, there are over 68 programs offered in five academic departments namely: Electrical Engineering, Building and Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Agriculture and Hospitality, Business and ICT. Today, the Polytechnic has more than 4,000 trainees pursuing studies in Artisan, Certificate, Diploma, and Higher Diploma levels. More learning facilities have been put in place to ensure the Polytechnic provides technical skills to the trainees, under an experienced team of over 70 trainers.
